Ask a Cop? Notes on cars? Threats?…

QUESTION:

Yesterday I read a note left on one of my family members windshields, they said the note had been there for weeks until they got a chance to ask me to read it for them (they are non- English speakers). The note said something around the lines of, “ “you shall not steal” you know what I am talking about I know your address and what your cars look like, do not come by or I will press charges, neighbor ”. This note is completely random to me and my family, we had just gotten a new car about a week ago and the car the note was placed in hasn’t been driven in a good amount of time due to medical issues, I do not recall taking anything from anybody or borrowing stuff and not giving it back. All of my neighbors don’t speak English, and “do not come by” confuses me very much..come by where?? Should I be alert about this note and/or contact the police? I haven’t been home recently and fear my family’s safety. (I do not want my name or question used, thank you for your time!)

ANSWER:

If it continues to happen I would at least call your local law enforcement non-emergency number for some advice. But I would also put in some kind of decent video camera and point it right at the vehicle to see if you can identify the phantom note placer.

I think we also know that some people in todays world are not always 100% and or have mental issues that are not being addressed. This could be all or none of those things. They can only press charges if there are charges to press. If this person confronts the people you know then it is time to get law enforcement involved or at anytime you or they feel threatened by this other person.
